Alternator Linearisation Device (12 V)
(NOTE: ALD DEVICES ARE BUILT BY HAND IN THE UK. PLEASE ALLOW LONGER DELIVERY PERIODS FOR MANUFACTURE TO ORDER).
The ALD12 stabilises the behaviour of modern 12 V alternators by extracting a clean, predictable signal from the raw, multi-pulse rectified output. It converts the noisy alternator waveform into a linear, stable voltage reference that downstream equipment can actually use.
Many systems that rely on alternator sensing—split-charging devices, external regulators, battery-to-battery chargers—misbehave when faced with ripple, voltage drop, or transient loading. The ALD12 removes that instability.
Key functions
Absorbs massive and destructive voltage spikes that are expected to occur if an alternator load is disconnected during operation (Lithium BMS interrupting charge, fuses blowing, large changes in loads, cables disconnecting)
Normalises alternator output into a clean, stable reference.
Ensures sensitive electronic equipment such as DC/DC chargers sense the alternator correctly.
Stabilises voltage readings on vehicles with ageing alternator diodes or high-current loads
Alternator Linearisation Device (24 V)
(NOTE: ALD DEVICES ARE BUILT BY HAND IN THE UK. PLEASE ALLOW LONGER DELIVERY PERIODS FOR MANUFACTURE TO ORDER).
The ALD24 stabilises the behaviour of modern 24 V alternators by extracting a clean, predictable signal from the raw multi-pulse rectified output. It converts a noisy alternator waveform into a linear, stable voltage reference that downstream equipment can rely on.
Many 24 V systems—DC/DC chargers, split-charge controllers, lithium management equipment, external regulators—depend on accurate alternator sensing. Ripple, voltage drop, and transient loading can all cause false triggering or unstable operation. The ALD24 removes that instability.

NOTE: The ALD24 is suitable for BB122465 and BB242435 use, but should not be used for BB1224120 use. For BB1224120 stabilisation off of an alternator supply, use the ALD24HC (High Capacity)

The ALD24HC is the high-capacity version of the 24 V ALD, designed for high-output alternators and systems that experience significant electrical transients. It linearises the raw rectified alternator output and delivers a clean, stable reference signal even under heavy load variation.
Systems with large lithium banks, export power loads, or marine diesels often experience severe ripple and rapid current swings. The ALD24HC is engineered to maintain accurate alternator sensing and prevent misbehaviour in DC/DC chargers, charge controllers, and monitoring equipment.
